On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, the buddies were taken on a 6.5 mile guided walk to Lewes led by the president of the Walking Society.

We met 15 buddies and the Walking Society on Sussex Campus bright and early. The sun was shining and the breeze was pleasant; it was the perfect day for a walk in the countryside. Setting off around 10.30am we were led up past the Falmer Sports Complex and off down a cute country path, with rolling hills surrounding us, the views were breathtaking.

The buddies were chatting along the way and getting to know each other, stopping now and then for a photo opportunity. We passed by families out walking the dogs and couples enjoying a bike ride and even some horse riders all taking advantage of this sunny autumnal day.

We stopped off half way to rest our legs, enjoy some tasty snacks and admire the view. Once we were rested, we set off for the final 3 miles of the walk, with the end goal of a well deserved roast providing the motivation. For most of the buddies on the walk it would be their first ever Sunday Roast!

Arriving early at a typically English pub, The Swan Inn, in Lewes, we enjoyed a refreshing drink in the beer garden while we waited for our table to become available. The food took a while to arrive but was well worth the wait, the gravy was particularly good, definitely recommend it. It was the perfect end to a great day out with the buddies.
