The wait is over…here are some of the exciting events we have planned for you and your buddies:

Buddy Scheme Launch Party
Friday 18th September, Mandela Hall, 6pm – 8pm.

Welcome to the Buddy Scheme with our first social event; fun games, table tennis, special performances from societies, face-painting and free pizza (while it lasts)! This is a great chance to hang out with your buddy! Or arrange to meet them for the first time at our meeting point. If you are not on the scheme, come along to find out more and sign up. Active US: Orienteering event
Monday 28th September, Falmer House Reception at 1pm

Still not sure about finding your way around campus? Active US are here to help you ‘orientate’ yourself. Come along and try an exciting outdoor adventure sport, Orienteering! The aim of the game is to navigate around campus in teams, deciding on the best route with the help of a map and compass. The first team back with all the correct stamps WINS a prize!

Country Walk and Sunday Roast in Lewes
Sunday 11th October at The Swan Inn, Lewes.

The Buddy Scheme have joined up with the Walking Society to take you on a guided walk from Sussex Uni through the beautiful Downs ending in the charming town of Lewes for a typically British Sunday Roast at the Swan Inn.

Active US: Paddle boarding/Kayaking
Wednesday 14th October 12-2pm

Come and have a go at the fastest growing paddle sport: paddleboarding! Stand up Paddling  is similar to surfing except the paddler uses a longer canoe-type paddle to move through the water while standing on a large surfboard. Or have a go at Kayaking! There is something quite magical about being out on the water in your Kayak… Kayaking is a Great Sport, Great Exercise and Great Fun!

Tower of London
Weds 21st October – all day.

See the world-famous Crown Jewels on a tour of the Tower of London. The Tower of London is one of the world’s most famous fortresses and has seen service as royal palace, prison, armoury and even a zoo.

Lazerzone
Thursday 29th October, at Lazerzone Brighton, 5pm

LaserZone is the futuristic multi-player laser tag game in Brighton! Explore our multi-level fully marshalled arena, equipped with state of the art laser packs and phasors. Score points by zapping your opponents and blasting their bases.

The Making of Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studio Tour
Sunday 1st November – all day

Many of the most famous sets from the Harry Potter series of films have been recreated for visitors to experience including (amongst many others) Dumbledore’s office, the Great Hall, the Ministry of Magic and even the Weasley family kitchen! Hundreds of props and original costumes are also on display, making this a truly fantastic day out for any Potter fan.

Active US Airhop
Wednesday 11th November, 10.30pm – 2pm
Active US are taking a coach load of buddies to descended on the first UK indoor trampoline park – AirHop in Guildford: a massive arena filled wall to wall with trampolines where you can literally bounce off the wall!

‘Wicked’ – a trip to the West End show
Wednesday 11 November

In The Wizard of Oz we hear the story from Dorothy’s perspective, but Wicked gives a voice to the witches! This is the untold story of an unlikely but profound friendship between two girls who first meet as sorcery students at Shiz University: the blonde and very popular Glinda and a misunderstood green girl named Elphaba.

International Food Party 

Wednesday 18th November 5pm – 7pm

Bring your favourite dish from home and try some tasty food from all over the world!
Everyone has to bring a dish from their home country (cooked or bought). It can be anything: main dish, dessert, salad, etc…This will be a perfect opportunity to get to know people from all over the world, try new and exciting dishes and obviously to have a lot of fun!!
