Buddy Scheme Bouldering

I’d been wanting to try a bit of climbing for ages – climbing trees was fun but getting a bit cold – so the buddy scheme bouldering sounded like a good opportunity (plus a free lunch at the café!) I was a bit nervous on the coach, wondering if fall/be awful/my leggings would split, but felt really well looked after by the climbing staff and the Active US activators (who had lots of very specific helpful knowledge.) We climbed for about an hour, stopped for lunch – cheesecake and smoothies! – and then went back for another go at the slack rope and bits I hadn’t quite managed the first time round. I hadn’t realised how relaxed climbing was – there’s a lot of standing around watching or advising other people. It was LOTS of fun and I hope they do it again!
