1. Switching on the Sussex Christmas Tree Lights

                         CHristmas TreeFeel the festive cheer rise as the lights get turned on at 4pm on Friday, December 1. There will be complimentary mince pies and mulled wine for all. Don’t miss performances from Big Band, SMUTS, Show Choir and special guests from the cast of The Amazing Adventures of Pinocchio, who will be performing at the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts later in December. 2. Christmas Dinner

 Kick start the festive season with a Christmas Spectacular in our very own Mandela Hall! After the annual turning of the christmas lights in Library Square, come to Mandela Hall for a traditional dinner, live entertainment and a festive mulled drink on arrival, all for only £10! Come along with your housemates, coursemates, society, or on your own and enjoy the start of the Christmas season right here on campus. Book your place here

3. Christmas Market

‘On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love gave to me…..’ Well in this case on the 12. December there will be a Christmas Market on campus! And in the spirit of magical mysteries more information will be released closer to the time.

4. Doggy De-stress

The location is yet to be confirmed, but what better way to take a break from all the looming assessments and potentially stressful travels awaiting us this time of year, than to take a break and cuddle a puppy. Keep a look out for ticket sales as they are swooped up within a blink of an eye. Keep the date, 13. December, free in your diaries!

5. The Globe: Christmas themed Movie Screenings!

All time favourites The Muppets Christmas Carol and Love Actually will be screened at the Globe in town for free! The Muppets Christmas Carol will be screened at 8pm on the 11th December; Love Actually at 8pm on the  18th December

6. Christmas Quidditch – Active US

        Christmas QuidditchOverly excited to present to you this wonderfully magical event. Come and drop into the Christmassy themed Quidditch session. Soar through the air and have a good laugh! Find out more here about the event, and Active US here

7. The Boy Who Sang

Are you looking forward to starting the christmas songs vibes with a little musical number? Well, there’s something magical awaiting you from SMuTS: The Boy Who Sang: A Magical Musical Parody! It may or may not involve a certain wizarding world. Find out more here

8. Naughty and Nice 

Christmas time is upon us once more. Santa Clause is making a list of who’s naughty and who’s nice, but this year Drag Soc is going to be both. So get ready for stockings, beards, and sparkly baubles as Labour Society and Drag Society put on a show to remember. All to raise some money for MindOut, a Brighton based charity for LGBTQ people. 9. Society  Christmas Carol

To celebrate our last Christmas at East Slope Bar we are getting lots of musical performance societies together for one last Christmas Concert. We’ll have performances from Big Band, FolkSoc, Show Choir and Ukulele, plus mulled wine and cider and a DJ until 2am! Find out more here

10. East Slope Bar’s Last Ever New Year’s Eve!

To round off the festive cheer and lovely term, if you’re around on New Year’s Eve come to East Slope Bar’s Last Ever New Year’s Eve! e’ll have a glass of prosecco at midnight for all guests, plus merchandise on offer and be open until the early hours!
