'Get Involved Conference'
Wednesday 13/12 2017
'Get Involved' is a volunteer recognition scheme that aims to recognises the hundreds of students who give up their time to get involved with projects and initiatives run by the Students’ Union, such as running a society, being a Student Rep, running a sports club, or being a Buddy Scheme volunteer, among many other opportunities.
‘Get involved’ is about you making things happen. It’s about students creating opportunities for other students. It’s about empowering people to be part of the Students’ Union, to lead from within. And it’s about the Students’ Union saying thank you to all of you that make us what we are.
The Get Involved Conference is for anyone who's part of running a club, society, campaign or student media, Buddy Volunteers, Student Reps and any other SU volunteer role.
You'll find out loads of useful information about planning events, SU policies & procedures, effective social media & marketing and more! Get your FAQs answered in our workshops and meet the Students' Union Officers and staff who will be on hand to help you.
It’s the perfect opportunity to meet other clubs, societies, campaign and media groups as well as volunteers from across the Sussex student community and make connections to collaborate on events in the upcoming Spring Term.
The workshops will focus on all the vital things you will need to know to run events on and off campus, promote what your group does and engage more students!
This is a compulsory event for all of the newly approved society committee members and at least 1 member must attend, but we encourage more. Committee members from existing societies and clubs are also welcome to attend.
There will be a choice of workshops to attend so it will be most useful for each committee member to attend a different workshop. It's a great opportunity to meet other people running clubs and societies and to network and find groups to collaborate with on events and the Leaf Scheme.
